I was pleased to provide technical and coordination support to the preparation of the Ethiopia Education Transformation Operation for Learning (ETOL), a US$679 million reform program financed by the World Bank, Global Partnership for Education, and Government of Ethiopia. Building on a series of previous education reforms, ETOL scales up successful interventions such as “0-class” pre-primary education in primary schools and inclusive education resource centers for students with special needs. ETOL is part of the Advancing Innovative Methods to Promote Learning (AIM4Learning) in Eastern and Southern Africa Multi-Phase Programmatic Approach, which is a massive $1.5 billion regional investment program.
